Tough metal boxing covers and protects essential building services
Tough metal pipe boxing and services casings from UK Boxings are being widely used to conceal and protect external pipework from the risk of damage, while also improving the look of the completed project.
Our metal pipe boxing is typically used to cover external pipework, such as gas supply pipes and low carbon distributed heating system pipework, as well as associated systems for ground source or air source heat pump installations.
Bespoke manufactured to the requirements of each individual project from 2mm thick aluminium, as standard, they incorporate a PPC finish, which can be selected from a wide range of BS and RAL colours to contrast or blend in with the surroundings.
As they are manufactured from corrosion resistant aluminium, the metal boxing range is inherently weather resistant, as well as being highly durable, and can also act as a potential deterrent against tampering or vandalism.
In addition to external applications, it is also used on interior social housing projects where fire sprinklers are installed, to conceal runs of pipework where there are no sprinkler heads. As the metal boxing is non-combustible it can aid compliance with fire safety requirements.
A choice of fixing methods is available with the option of either an integral flange or using concealed angle brackets. With either system, the ‘U’ shaped channel profiles can be readily secured to external walls, while access panels and lockable doors can be incorporated to provide a simple solution for inspection and maintenance, while retaining security.
