Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia is proudly supporting Global Action Plan’s Clean Air Day on Thursday, 18 June 2026. This year, Vent-Axia is marking the day by highlighting the role air filters play in maintaining good indoor air quality (IAQ) and reminding homeowners of the importance of regular ventilation maintenance. Filters are a key component of many ventilation systems, such as Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems and Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) units, helping remove airborne pollutants and particulate matter from incoming air. With the Future Homes Standard, set to deliver increasingly airtight and energy efficient homes, effective ventilation and filtration will play an ever more important role in maintaining healthy indoor environments.

Leading ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia has welcomed the Future Homes Standard, alongside the publication of new Approved Document Part F (Means of Ventilation) of the Building Regulations, and Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power), as “a significant step on the road to Net Zero.” The Future Homes Standard is expected to deliver homes that produce 75-80% fewer carbon emissions compared to 2013 standards, representing a major shift in how new homes are built.

However, as buildings become increasingly air-tight, it is essential to consider indoor air quality (IAQ) too to protect occupants’ well-being. As carbon reductions become more ambitious, achieving compliance becomes more complex for housebuilders, meaning well-designed, correctly installed, and effectively commissioned ventilation systems are more important than ever. Vent-Axia therefore welcomes the strengthened focus on competency within the updated guidance, recognising that good ventilation design will play an essential role in delivering energy-efficient, low-carbon homes.

On 27th October 2025, Awaab’s Law came into force, requiring social landlords to investigate and address damp and mould hazards within strict timescales. The law is named after Awaab Ishak, the two-year-old who tragically died in 2020 following prolonged exposure to mould in his family home. His story has become a rallying point for change across the sector, and the legislation now represents a defining moment for social housing.

This commitment was recognised in September 2025 when Vent-Axia was named Best Ventilation Brand of the Year at the Electrical Wholesaler Awards, with judges impressed by the company’s groundbreaking initiative to transition from virgin to recycled plastic in its manufacturing, alongside its wider sustainability commitments that are helping lead the industry.

Aimed at UK housebuilders, the publication provides guidance on overheating, helping to identify solutions that balance comfort, compliance, and performance. As new residential properties have become more thermally efficient, to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions to help meet the 2050 Net-Zero target, they are increasingly prone to overheating. Recognising the seriousness of the issue, the UK government introduced Approved Document O of the Building Regulations in 2021. Vent-Axia’s eBook aims to provide an understanding of the regulation and how and when ventilation can be applied to help mitigate overheating.

Leading ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia is once again supporting World Ventilation Day, #WorldVentil8Day, a day dedicated to recognising and promoting the importance of ventilation and indoor air quality (IAQ). Now in its fourth year, World Ventil8 Day will be held on Saturday, 8th November, with the theme of ‘Collaborate to Ventilate’. The day aims to highlight ventilation’s crucial role in healthy buildings and a healthy life, with a particular focus on how to help people improve ventilation in their buildings, whether it be a home, a school, a workplace or a social space.
