Whether it’s the kitchen sink or the shower, there’s a good chance that all social housing tenants will experience plumbing problems in their home at some point. The Water Regulation Advisory Scheme (WRAS) recently commissioned a study into the most common plumbing issues in the home, with dripping taps and leaking pipes being the leading problems reported.

Many of these can be prevented by using properly tested products and hiring a qualified plumber or installer, ensuring that water systems or fittings meet the requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Scottish Water Byelaws.

Windoor balcony enclosures not only increase the light inside a home but they allow for an outside seating space which can be enclosed on cooler spring and autumn days – therefore extending balcony use more than a traditional design.

The balcony enclosures can be fully opened up when the resident wants to bask in the summer sunshine, and for the chillier days the system has a unique track which allows all the panels to slide and turn inwards. They are then secured safely and discreetly against the inner wall.

British manufacturer of high quality protective coatings Bradite is set to take the specialist paint market by storm with the launch of a new multi-purpose product that is suitable for use on all surfaces.

Bradite ‘One Can’, the first all-purpose water-based primer and finish in one can, will be available at stockists nationwide from Autumn 2018. The unique product is an interior and exterior, anti-corrosive, quick drying, low odour, low VOC, primer, undercoat and finish. It offers the decorator a single pack, direct-to-substrate paint that provides superior stain locking and adhesion properties.

Floodex widens scope for 2019

2019 will see an entirely new event which will benefit both trade shows and conferences, with a big overlap in interest. IRRIGEX, the event for the UK irrigation industry will run alongside FLOODEX.

FLOODEX has widened its scope and has even stronger, relative support now, being partnered with the Association of Drainage Authorities and Association of SuDS Authorities, meaning no other event will see a bigger attendance of flood and SuDS officers, senior staff from the UK’s Internal Drainage Boards and Local Authority.
